FAQs

How do I order a cap and gown and graduation announcements?
Seniors who did not attend the meeting in the fall are able to pick up a Jostens packet in the Main Office.  They may also order a cap and gown online at jostens.com. It is highly recommended that cap and gown orders be placed as soon as possible.

When will I receive my cap and gown?
Caps and gowns will be distributed after the completion of rehearsal. The MANDATORY graduation rehearsal is on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at EchoPark Stadium.  All seniors who plan to participate in the ceremony must attend graduation rehearsal - no exceptions!  Seniors must be in attendance for the duration of the rehearsal.

How many guests may attend per graduate?
Each graduate may have up to 10 guests in attendance.

What is the dress code for graduates?

Chaparral has a long standing tradition of hosting a formal and dignified ceremony.
This includes adhering to the graduation ceremony dress code:

Graduates:

  • Black dress slacks
  • White long-sleeve shirt or blouse with a dark-colored tie (no bow ties)
  • Dress – length must be shorter than graduation gown
  • Dress shoes or sandals (can include brown, black, navy or grey) – No athletic shoes, tall boots or flip-flops
  • It is recommended that you avoid high heels due to the amount of walking and the uneven turf field.

Approved medals, cords, and sashes of achievement awarded by Chaparral High School can be worn.
